Denys Lapointe began his career in 1985 as a junior industrial designer at Bombardier, steadily rising through the ranks to become Vice President of Design in 1995. In 2022, he was appointed Chief Design Officer at BRP. The design philosophy he introduced in 1989 continues to guide the company to this day. He currently leads a multidisciplinary team of 135 members from 20 different nationalities, with studios located in Canada, the United States, and France.

Throughout his career, he has received over 210 international design awards, including Red Dot, IDEA, Good Design Award (Australia, Japan, USA), and iF Design Award. In July 2025, his team was honored with the “Red Dot Design Team of the Year 2025” title in Essen, Germany. He has also been recognized as an Honorary Member of ADIQ (2022) and inducted into the NMMA Canada Hall of Fame (2017).

He holds 46 design patents and 15 utility patents (since 1988).

Judging Experience:
He has served as a jury member for Grand Prix du Design and INT design (Montréal) from 2021 to 2026,
and for the Victorian Premier's Design Awards (Australia) from 2021 to 2022.
Since 2011, he has been Jury President of BRP’s International Design School Competition / Challenge.
